Welcome to Sparks Youth Theatre, the youth branch of Bright Light Productions!
A brand new youth theatre based in Harrogate created to spark passion for musical theatre in young performers. Our aim is to train young people to become the best performers they can be in a fun, energetic, and supportive environment while keeping creativity, confidence, and enjoyment at the heart of everything we do.

Description:
Welcome to Hadestown, where a song can change your fate. An unforgettable journey following two intertwining love stories, that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and immortal King Hades and Lady Persephone. This show invites audiences on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back. It takes inspiration from traditions of classic American folk music and vintage New Orleans jazz. A deeply resonant and defiantly hopeful theatrical experience, Hadestown invites you to imagine how the world could be.

Our Groups:
Junior (9 - 12)
Our Junior group offers young performers a 2-hour weekly session honing skills working towards an annual showcase featuring extracts from broadway and west end musical theatre shows. They will also partake in an end of year full company concert.
This group will spend time working on performance vocations including, singing, dancing, and acting. Through blocking rehearsals, workshops, and learning games; the group will develop a showcase whilst taking part in fun and engaging sessions each week.
Each year we will do:
(Spring)
Showcase: Demonstrating singing, acting, and dancing skills. The junior showcase will include short snippets from west end and broadway musicals including acting scenes, vocal numbers, and dance routines.
(Summer)
Full company concert: Working with our senior group, this is a collection of full company songs, dance numbers, group performances and solos numbers to showcase all the performers in both of our groups.

Senior (13 - 19)
Our Senior group offers teen performers a 2-hour weekly session developing skills and working towards an annual professional standard 'book show' musical. They will then finish the year off with a full company concert.
This group will gain hands on time working on a full show from music and blocking rehearsals to a show run with costumes, set and props; setting them up with industry experience and skills needed for a future performing in theatre.
Each year we will do:
(Spring)
Spring Show: A licensed musical theatre production suitable for young people aged 13 - 19 (Y9 - Y13). This will be a full teen edition/junior show and will include acting scenes, vocal numbers, and dance routines.
(Summer)
Full company concert: Working with our junior group, this is a collection of full company songs, dance numbers, group performances and solos numbers to showcase all the performers in both of our groups.
£600 per year

*8 sessions will run 12pm - 4pm on the run up to the book show
For low income households a limited number of bursary places are made available - please get in touch to discuss elegibility
